Where to View Your Vehicle’s Oil Life in the FordPass® App

The FordPass® app puts a lot of information and control in the palm of your hand, allowing you to enjoy more of a connection to your car and easily gauge its needs. One of the helpful things that the FordPass app can do is help you keep track of your car’s oil life. This feature can help you stay on top of oil changes and keep your Ford vehicle running smoothly, so it’s a handy tool to have at your disposal. Read on to find out more about how to view your car’s oil life using the app.

How to Use FordPass to Check Oil Life

Before you get started, make sure that your vehicle is added to FordPass and equipped with FordPass Connect. Ensure that you’ve activated your FordPass Connect modem, and double-check that your car supports the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor feature in the instrument cluster.

If you’ve done all the necessary setup, the next steps are easy. The main thing to keep in mind is that the process of pulling up oil life details in the FordPass app might be a little different depending on the version of the app that you have. Here is how you find oil life on both versions:

FordPass App 4.X Experience

  1. Log in to the FordPass App
  2. Navigate to the Vehicle screen
  3. Tap the Status header
  4. Select Oil Life

Following these steps will bring up the oil life display. If your vehicle has a FordPass Connect 4G modem, it’ll also show you available service reminder estimates.

FordPass App 5.X Experience

  1. Log in to the FordPass App
  2. Navigate to the Service screen
  3. Tap the Vehicle Health box
  4. Scroll down to the Status section

Following these steps presents your car’s oil life to you in terms of a percentage, and it will also give you an estimated distance and estimated service date.
